Allan Linder: Sketchbook

Like many artists, Linder keeps an ongoing physical sketchbook to create ideas and experiments. Some are finished works of art, and many are not. Sketches can be a way to work out problems that might exist before he turns them into a painting or animation.

This place will be updated frequently and in no particular order. Every year he fills approximately five to six sketchbooks with ideas. Some of them make it into a project and some don't. Check back here frequently, because he will update this all the time.

I have been working on a series of cyberpunk, android women with interchangeable heads and bodies. I can't give away too much of the project yet.

These are the blue pencil rough sketches of this android series called SENSUOID. The pencil work is slowly refined and at the beginning of the ink stage.

Above is the final piece of work. Purification is graphite on acid-free paper 7 x 5 inches created in 2022.

Here you can see the piece is really taking shape and the detail is coming together. the small rectangles at the bottom are similar to a cartouche.
